AJE Resort 20 Collection Runway MBFWA

The Aje Resort ‘20 Collection displayed a tantalizing arrangement of Australian landscape inspired colourings. Everything from ‘ultra-earthy’ gum-tree green to outback sandy pink and beyond. The collection transported us to the outdoors with a primarily key design focus on Australian flora and fauna that was beautifully complementary to the Harbourside setting of the runway show. This setting worked pleasantly against the big city contrast linking the past with the present magnificently. Aje paid homage to its core Australian roots wonderfully. This collection oozed of flowing easy-to-wear silhouettes and soft feminine necklines, while some pieces were graciously complemented by a delectable array of voluminous layered ruffles.

Bec + Bridge did not disappoint with their retro inspired resort’ 20 collection! They marvelously transported us way back to the 1970’s with a range of richly bronzed fabric textures and the 70’s signature fashion look, the exaggerated flare hemline. Classic hues ensured that this collection was a reverence of old as new, a nod to fashion recreated for the woman of today. Intricate pops of retro orange, powder room blue and lilac purple helped in creating a modern edge flawlessly and immaculately ‘broke-up’ what would have been a rather muted colour palette in itself. A rather form-fitted collection was offset beautifully by billowing oversized suit jackets and relaxed fit sheer sleeves. In conclusion, 70’s Inspired floral prints brought the collection together stunningly.

Alice McCall 20 Collection Runway MBFWA

Welcome to a world of ‘sheerful’ shininess. This year the Alice McCall Resort’ 20 runway show brought alive an eclectic collection of everything that glittered. It was definitely all about the sparkle this year, everything from bold metallic textures, mesh-backed floating sequins to sparkle-thread fringing. The collection successfully captured a mystic summer-night sundaze appeal while still keeping true to the core McCall feminine aesthetic.Bold pops of neon colour excited the crowd, a somewhat nod to the re-emergence of this late noughties trend was reborn once again as recently seen on many celebrities. The show had us feeling like we were in a dreamy fairytale sequence, yet still managed to encapsulate the modern girl next door vibe beautifully. All in all this collection was a divine representation of what the Alice McCall brand is, a truly magical experience.

Thurley Resort 20 Collection Runway MBFWA

The Thurley Resort’ 20 runway show offered a sea of pastel coloured magic. A stunning arrangement of soft pastels, mint green and lilac were all on display, complemented beautifully by dyed plaited rope textures and ornate embellishments. A design style inspired by a softly elegant form that undeniably created a lust worthy collection. The collection was embodied by a delightful ‘palette of the forest and sky hues’ which helped us gain a sense of ethereal romanticism. Everything from asymmetrical hemlines, delicately laced bodices and free-flowing chiffon graced the runway. We also saw a range of ruched chiffon bodices which further softened the collection creating a rather dreamy look overall. Hints of metallic silver where also present adding a pleasant contemporary touch. Safe to say Thurley kept true to their over embellished roots, gracing us wonderfully like a warm hug from a familiar loved-one.

The Carla Zampatti Resort’ 20 show was a bold collection featuring sophisticated elegance and form fitted tailoring. The show encapsulated a chic modern-woman vibe that had us spoilt for choice. In true signature Zampatti style there was a selection of structured silhouettes, sultry plunging V-necklines and sequin fabrics. A monotone colour palette allowed for an exciting punch of canary yellow that demanded our attention by drawing us in and making us want more. Monotone prints made an appearance through features such as strikingly bold pinstripes and alluring large polka dots. We saw a vast variety of pant suit styles featuring interesting necklines and contrasting elements. Overall a great way to close Fashion Week, the Carla Zampatti brand inspired us through its refined yet classically elegant approach to fashion ensuring us that her pieces will stand the test of time.
