Our lovely Brisbane-based customer Sarah recently had a girls’ day out at the Doomben races! For the special occasion Sarah chose to hire our Asilio ‘A Love Like That Dress In Black’, crafted from intricate geometric lace and partially lined with a satin slip. 1. Tell us about the special occasion you had and why you wanted to wear a designer dress for it?

My best friend and I were having a girls day out at the Chandon marquee at the Doomben races, the highlight of the races was the Group 1 race the “Doomben Cup”. The sun was shining, the champagne was flowing and we even had a few wins betting on the horses. Being in such a fabulous marquee I really wanted a dress that would stand out and be as glamorous as the day was. We didn’t have a reason to celebrate, we just love a day at the races! We both work at a veterinary clinic so spend most of our time with animals, so why not our spare time too!

2. What was it about this occasion that made renting a dress so appealing for you?

Renting a dress for the races seemed like the perfect idea because I often find myself not wanting to wear the same thing to the races on several occasions and I could choose something a bit different to what I would usually wear. In addition to renting the dress I was also able to rent a beautiful gold fascinator which matched beautifully.

3. Tell us about the dress and the designer label you chose, and why you chose it?

The dress was a black Asilio dress, it had a high neck and long sleeves and was mid calf length, it came with a black slip underneath as the top layer was a sort of lace. I chose it because it just shouted “races” at me, fun but elegant. I didnt want a dress that was too demure but I also didn’t want something too revealing. I thought it was really eye catching and with plain accessories hoped that it would be right for a day at the races.

4. Have you rented a dress before or was this your first time? For your first time renting a dress, what made you consider it?

I had not used a dress rental service before but was recommended GlamCorner after a friend of mine rented a dress for the Magic Millions races at the Gold Coast in January. I loved how quick and easy it sounded to use as a service (she simply popped her dress in the post the day after the races when we were on our way to breakfast!) and reading the reviews from others that had worn the dress (and seeing real people wearing it) really convinced me.

5. Tell us about how you first discovered GlamCorner?

A friend of mine recommended GlamCorner having used it several times with great success.

6. How was your overall experience with GC (online and offline) and would you recommend us to other women?

I couldn’t have been happier with the service, online I loved browsing the dresses by size and occasion, it was great to read other wearers reviews as well. I am a pretty standard size so I was pretty sure the sizing was going to be correct. I actually ordered the dress the Friday to the Sunday but was excited when it arrived on the Tuesday. I couldn’t wait to try it on at home so opened it at work! The dress arrived in as new condition as did the fascinator/headpiece and I was relieved they both fitted and went with the heels I had planned to wear. A handwritten note came in the box wishing me a great day and a pre paid envelope to return them in meant it couldn’t have been easier. Thank you GC!
