Off Shoulder for Days

Beautifully elegant, strapless dresses – or off the shoulder varieties – look incredible on every figure. You don’t have to have seriously high neckbones for this shape to work wonders with your body come ladies day.

The key to success with a strapless or off the shoulder style, is A. to ensure you’re comfortable (if you can’t raise your arms, my guess is you won’t be) and B. ensure the rest of the dress is balanced from top to bottom.

Opt for a dress in a pale shade of blue with a slight fit and flare shape: fitted until just above the knee then kicks out the bottom with a graduating hemline. Pair it back with classic nude pumps and antique clutch, then pull it all together with a statement fascinator. Bigger, the better on ladies days like these.

Bright and Bold

Not for the faint hearted, going bold in a bright shade of pink, or electric tone of purple, will have you standing out from the crowd – and no one will ever lose you. Now’s the time to showcase your true sartorial style from top to toe on the day that anything pink is acceptable.

Pair back a brightly coloured dress with equally as bright accessories. Going overboard is definitely an option when it comes to dressing like so. This Yeojin Bae gown ticks all the right boxes, it’s modern style and popping fuchsia colour is ready and waiting for your ladies day.

Team it with a pair of cooky mules in a similar tone – think pastel purple or pale pink – then finish it off with an over-the-top fascinator to really make your outfit POP!

Classy and Classic

Smart, classic and of course, classy. Everyone wants to look their best on Ladies Day, no matter what age bracket they fall into. Here’s where we come in to play. Classic cuts are generally the easiest to find, but they can also be drab, made from horrible material, and just plain bad.

Look for something in a fine lace, or hand printed silk, ensuring your dress will look the part come game time. In terms of style, it depends on what suits you best. In saying that, hemlines that fall just above the knee and classic straight cut silhouettes tend to look the best.

Finish the outfit off with a pair of pumps – opt for a neutral shade and a thicker heel, to stop you from sinking in the ground – and a glamorous fascinator thats going to show everyone no matter what your age, you can still be up there with the fashion trends!
