Dress Like a Celebrity For a Week

If you are anything like me, then majority of your day-to-day 'dress like a celebrity' fashion inspiration will come in the form of endless scrolling of Instagram feeds and pinning of Street Style photos on Pinterest. With this, obviously, comes unbearable envy when it comes to celebrities, models and successful businesswomen's wardrobes alike.

Here's where we at GlamCorner come into play. Where celebrities get handed their dresses to wear, us mere mortals have to fork out the cashola if we are ever wanting a new designer gown. OR, you can rent the dresses for a portion of the price. #pennysaver!

Take a look at our Monday - Friday "Dress Like a Celebrity" style inspiration, then head over to GlamCorner where you can rent the dresses and look and feel like a million-dollar celebrity for the week.

Here's a way to brighten up every dull Monday - cause who likes Monday's? Look and feel like a princess from the Seven Kingdoms in this white lace Self Portrait gown. What may seem as a too formal for some to wear to the office, believe us, every cocktail dress can be transformed with a few style top tips and hot hints.

In order to dress like a celebrity, wear it with boots and a blazer for a more formal affair (be it day, or night), or, opt for a more "athleisure" feel with a pair of black New Balance and vintage jacket - think bomber or denim. Classy athleisure at its best.

Vanessa on a Tuesday

A classic case for 'From Day to Night' wear, this off-the-shoulder Zimmermann silk gown works wonders in both Summer and Winter - thanks to the darker floral print. Team this dress with a leather jacket and R. M. Williams boots for a toughened overall look, and turn heads in the office (for all the right reasons) as you float down the corridors in class, comfort, and style.

Then meet the girls out for some much needed pre-half-week cocktails - just, because.

Queen B Wednesday

It's hump day, so think like Queen B and act as though it's Friday and the weekend is tomorrow. Take a leaf out of her sartorially great fashion book and opt for a casual mid-week outfit with this Camilla playsuit (wings included). Here's the trick. To make it more office-appropriate (if that's where you reside) team it with a cropped, structured jacket or a lightweight trench, and a pair of brogues, slides or oxfords.

Given, there will be some offices that deem this one a little too 'out-there' so pick your time and place perfectly. (N.B. Can also be substituted for a casual Friday affair - but we thought Wednesday was better).

Thursday (almost there!)

One can never say no to a wonderful white dress, and while we started the week on a sartorial high, here's where we give you a chance to choose. This incredible Alice McCall lace number comes in white, and yes, the easy-out-option of black! The perfect summer frock that's easily updated for those cooler winter winds, dress like a celebrity and pair it back with basic essentials to keep the intricately designed lace material do all the talking.

Sandals and boots are a go, however think like a Dutch person and team this dress with a pair of wooden clogs and a cropped denim jacket for an overall more casual look. For winter, throw on a chunky knit and heels for a 'fresh off the street-style runway' kind of feel.

Friday or FriYay?

It's the weekend, which can only mean one thing: party time! No matter the occasion, always take the opportunity to wear a little cocktail number, dress like a celebrity, and watch the compliments roll in. As always, the clever fashion forecasters were spot on with their colour choices. Burgundy, merlot, Shiraz - however you like to call it, the deep reddy-purple is out in force this winter.

Look for a dress that uses fine detailing - read: pleats, draping, delicate late, intricate design details - to really enhance the subtle beauty of this colour. Realistically, there's no need for a jacket because no one wants to hide the elegance of this dress. In saying that, a crisp, lightweight trench coat will team perfectly, keeping those winter chills at bay.
