Winter Fashion Trends 2018

Whilst the crowds may flock to Fashion Week for the runway shows, you can be sure that they’re staying for the street style! Playing a new role in Fashion Week which is arguably just as important as the shows, the looks we are seeing on the street are planned and curated by the best of the best, taking inspiration from the catwalk and putting it into the reality of everyday life – just as we are!

With this, for our Winter Fashion Trend’s forecast of 2018, we’re looking straight to the sidewalk to see just how the cool chicks of New York, sophisticated women of Paris, chilled ladies of London and it-girls of Milan are styling themselves for the streets and the shows.

With style that is emerging to be larger than life, big, bright and bold, with a strong 80’s influence, this winter certainly won’t be a boring one!

The Colour Block

This trend of all trends is making its way through all looks this season, making it a staple among the stylish. No matter how it is put together, the colour block is popping up everywhere!

Colours are bold this season – think millennial pink, bright oranges, lush purples and sunshine yellow. It may be winter but that doesn’t mean we’re dulling it down! Keep it simple with a bright and bold dress, or mix it up with tonal accompaniments in jackets, coats and accessories.

The Pant Suit

When Emily Ratajkowski wears a mustard coloured power suit to her wedding, you know it means it’s something worth noting – and fashionistas doing the Fashion Week rounds have certainly been taking note!

Bonus points if the pant suit is also bold in colour – combining these trends is certainly set to be a winner! Keep it tailored and chic, and experiment with different pant shapes – while bell bottoms are currently having a moment, you still can’t go wrong with a classic tapered leg. Whether you opt for the two piece set or an all-in-one jumpsuit, this trend is rocking the runways and the roadways alike. A subtle mix of masculine tailoring with a flattering and feminine cut creates the perfect balance, and we can’t get enough!

When its not colour, its all about texture this season, and adding some pleats to your look is the perfect way to create it. Fabulously feminine yet oh-so on trend, try layering  with wooly knits, a chic pair of boots and a relaxed silhouette. Whilst you can’t go wrong with a classic pleated midi length skirt, try experimenting with pleated mini dresses, long gathered sleeves or extra rouching and ruffles for some flirty flounce.

Metallic, leather-look, bright or a soft chiffon – the options are limitless. It’s chic and it’s dreamy, and we’re in love!

Playful, expressive and extra fun! Whether its an entire look made of prints or simply a chic accessory, playing with bright, graphic designs will give any look some edge. Work with colours that you love and prints that you’re drawn to to really make the look your own.  Opt for pops of colour and pair with something a little more simple to really let the print do the talking.
